In the summer of 1998, Krishnamurthy Rajan left his engineering job in Chennai with a simple dream: to raise animals with dignity and feed his community with honest food. He purchased 12 acres of land in the Nilgiri foothills and brought home his first dozen Gir cows.
Today, Green Meadow spans 40 acres, is home to 120+ cows of heritage breeds, and serves over 5,000 families across Tamil Nadu. The Rajan children — now grown — run different aspects of the farm, keeping the same spirit alive with modern efficiency.
